We’re excited to bring Lossless Audio to Bluetooth with our latest offering, NuraTrue Pro. Using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound technology, NuraTrue Pro is capable of transmitting CD-quality Lossless Audio.
To achieve Lossless Audio your device will need to support Qualcomm aptX Lossless, meaning it will need to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform. A handful of phones are set to be released later this year with support for lossless audio, and most high-end Android phones released from early next year will also offer support.
If your phone doesn’t support Qualcomm aptX Lossless you may still be able to use aptX Adaptive, aptX HD or aptX, which will provide incredible audio when paired with Nura’s Personalised Sound technology. You’ll also have a great set of earbuds ready for when you do have a phone with Qualcomm aptX Lossless. aptX Adaptive provides up to 80% transmission rate compared to lossless, a big improvement over AAC and aptX HD.
At this time iPhone does not offer Qualcomm aptX Lossless and will use the AAC Bluetooth codec. In this case, it may be worth considering the Nura Bluetooth® 5.3 Audio Transmitter which can be used with your computer (or your iPhone with an adapter). The Nura Bluetooth® 5.3 Audio Transmitter uses Qualcomm aptX Adaptive technology which supports a maximum bit depth of 24-bit and a maximum sample rate of 96kHz.
List of confirmed handsets which support Qualcomm aptX Lossless:
- Asus ROG6
- Asus Zenfone 9
Please note: Nura does not guarantee that all devices supporting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform will support aptX Lossless, however aptX Lossless does require this mobile platform. If you are unsure whether or not a handset supports aptX Lossless we recommend that you reach out to the manufacturer to confirm.
